Consolidating multiple devices in a single unit rack mount case
Our case study this month is from Craig Tosi, who managed to cram a PBX, DSL gateway, router and wireless access point into a 1U rack mount case, using amongst other things a net4801 board and an ALIX 3 board.
He got tired of the untidy stack of devices in his home office and set out to fit them all into the remaining 1U in his 4U rack wall frame.
Read how he managed it on our case studies page.
Introducing the Viking ADSL2+ PCI modem
Build your own ADSL2+ gateway
Combine our new Viking PCI ADSL2+ modem with a net5501 and a wireless kit and build your own standalone ADSL2+ gateway, 4-port router and wireless access point.
The Viking PCI ADSL2+ Modem provides a fast, reliable and seamless broadband Internet connection at speeds up to 24Mbps downstream and 1Mbps upstream.
With just a single ADSL connection required and onboard ethernet, this card can be used with Windows, Linux and BSD without the need for special drivers.
Check it out in our online shop, or add one to an ALIX 1 “XL” or a net5501.

We’re moving!
The good news is that we’re growing! So much so that we’ve outgrown our current office, and so we’re moving up and out to new premises just a few kilometres away.
The bad news is that this means we’re going to have to close for a few days, around the Anzac Day weekend.
We’ll be closed from Thursday, April 23 through to Tuesday, April 28, so if there’s anything you’re going to need desperately from us before the Anzac Day weekend, please let us know well in advance.
You’re more than welcome to place orders via the website during this period, but we won’t be answering the phones, shipping orders, or responding to emails until we reopen at 9AM on Wednesday the 29th. This also means that April’s news update will be very brief.
Our contact details won’t be changing much, so you can still contact us in the same ways you always have – by email, phone and fax.
Our apologies in advance for any inconvenience, and for the frustration and disappointment we know you’ll feel as you find this out at the last minute when you ring us and find out we’re closed.
We look forward to serving you even better when we reopen in our new and improved location. See you there!
