Compact Flash and PCI adapters

Use your Compact Flash cards and miniPCI cards in even more ways

You can use a CF adapter to connect a Compact Flash card to an IDE interface in any regular PC.

The CF device will then appear as a normal disk drive to your operating system.

This is especially useful when you don’t have space for a regular hard drive, or want to use storage that is more stable and resilient than a hard drive.

Or use a miniPCI to PCI adapter to mount a miniPCI card in a standard PCI slot.

This allows you to use any miniPCI card in a regular PC, giving you access to even wider range of expansion cards.

Direct connection

The FDD direct (right-angle) and FDD direct (straight) CF to IDE adapters plug directly into the motherboard via a 40-pin IDE connector and take their power from a floppy disk drive power plug.

These adapters are especially useful when you don’t need (or want) ready access to the CF card, and are ideal when space is limited.

They suit both Compact Flash Type I and Type II cards.

CF to IDE adapter direct right-angleThe terms ‘right-angle’ and ‘straight’ refer to the plug on the adapter, such that the right angle adapter stands up perpendicular relative to the motherboard, as below:

CF to IDE adapter direct straightand the straight adapter lies flat on (or parallel to) the motherboard, as below:

Cable connection

The FDD power (cable) and HDD power (cable) CF to IDE adapters plug into the 40-pin connector on the motherboard via a standard IDE cable (not supplied).

This allows you to mount the adapter, along with the CF card, in a more convenient location. This is especially helpful when you’re tight on space, or you want easy access to the CF card.

These adapters work with both Compact Flash Type I and Type II cards.

2.5″ drive adapter

CF to IDE adapter 2.5" This 2.5″ CF to IDE adapter allows you to connect a Compact Flash (CF) card to the 2.5″ 44-pin IDE interface in your laptop drive tray, using a 44-wire IDE ribbon cable (not supplied).

This adapter allows you to add IDE storage to an older device that is used in harsh environments and requires storage that is more stable and resilient.

Power is taken from the 2.5″ drive connector.

It suits both Compact Flash Type I and Type II cards.

miniPCI to PCI adapter

miniPCI to PCI adapterUse a miniPCI to PCI adapter to mount a miniPCI card in a normal PCI slot.

This gives you the freedom to use any miniPCI card in a regular PC, including wireless cards and VoIP cards.

The PCI mounting bracket has a D-punchout suitable for a reverse SMA antenna and pigtail.
